A funeral will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 for 81-year-old Judy A. Pitman of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born June 11, 1941 in Yount, Mo., to Thomas Andrew and Hester Della (Edmond) Hendrix who both preceded her in death.
Judy and H. Wayne Pitman were married on June 18, 1960. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2017.
She is survived by a daughter: Cynthia (Perry III) Hazelwood of New Wells, Mo.; son: Wesley (Lee Ann) Pitman of Ballwin, Mo.; foster daughter: Charlotte “Patty” Colin of Perryville, Mo.; brother: Glennon (Pat) Hendrix of Ormond Beach, Fla.; three sisters: Janice Worley of Pacific, Mo., Faye Norman of Granite Bay, Calif., and Reta Carol (Butch) Robb of O’Fallon, Ill., six grandchildren: Perry C. (Andrea) Hazelwood IV, Mitchel A. (Nicole) Hazelwood, Donald W. Hazelwood, Daniel B. Hazelwood, Bradley W. Pitman, Benjamin L. Pitman; five great-grandchildren: Perry C. Hazelwood V, John D. Hazelwood, Charley E. Hazelwood, Arlo W. Hazelwood, Blakelynn N. Manche.
She was preceded in death by a grandson: Nicholas W. Pitman, three brothers and two sisters.
Judy was a member of United Methodist Church in Sedgewickville and was more recently attending Crossroads Church in Jackson, Mo.
Judy retired on December 31, 2021 from Jo Ann’s Beauty Salon. She had been a beauty operator in Perryville for 61 years.
She was a member for more than 55 years of the Eastern Star Perryville Chapter No. 460 O.E.S.
Judy and her husband Wayne enjoyed the spirit of the Christmas season as Mrs. Claus and Santa for over 30 years.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A memorial service for 81-year-old Judy A. Pitman of Perryville, Missouri will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home with Dr. Brian Anderson officiating.
In case of inclement weather, the visitation and funeral will be postponed to Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Burial will be at Home Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
