CHESTER — Members of the Beta Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society enjoyed a program about the recent redecoration of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chester.
The program was presented by member Jan Smith. She shared information about the church, the extensive recent redecoration and the re-dedication. She explained the type and meaning of the church’s architecture, details about the artifacts, the suspended crucifix, the baptismal font, the intricate painting and the interesting wall hangings.
Jan provided informative handouts with more details about the history of the church, the remodeling, financing, and the significance of many decorative items. Members walked through the church to view the areas and items she explained.
A business meeting followed the program and tour.
Members received an update on the recent “New Teacher Bags” project and reviewed programs planned for the 2022-23 Chapter year.
Following the meeting, an evening meal was enjoyed at a local restaurant.
