Boerding named new Missouri Farm Bureau Young Farmer chair

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Andrew Boerding, of St. Charles, was announced as the new chair of the Missouri Farm Bureau (MOFB) Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Committee at the organization’s 108th annual meeting December 6 at Lake of the Ozarks. He replaces Bryant Kagay, of Maysville, whose one-year term expired.

Boerding is the sixth generation on the farm, working in partnership with his father, Jim. Together with cousin Donnie Boerding, they row crop corn and soybeans, and raise Belgian Blue cattle on land between both the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. His wife, Meredith, works at Lindenwood University and also helps on the farm.

Locally, Boerding serves as St. Charles County Farm Bureau YF&R chair and is involved in the area Alzheimer’s Association. He is a member of the Missouri Corn Growers Association. In 2018, Boerding was part of the CornRoots Leadership Academy sponsored by the Missouri Corn Growers and Missouri Corn Merchandising Council. As a member of the class, he lobbied for agriculture in Jefferson City and Washington, D.C.

Boerding’s parents have a strong history of involvement in Farm Bureau. Jim chaired the YF&R committee 20 years ago. His mother, Dawn, served on both the YF&R and Promotion and Education committees.
