JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The day after Missourians once again sent them to Jefferson City with a veto-proof super majority, House Republicans met in the State Capitol Building to select their leadership team for the upcoming legislative session.
The 111 Republican House members met in the House Chamber Wednesday, November 9 to elect their colleagues who will serve in the various leadership positions for the 102nd General Assembly that begins in January. The group joins Speaker-Designee Dean Plocher, who was previously unanimously selected by the House Republican Caucus to serve as the next Speaker of the House.
The leadership team selected by House Republicans includes:
Speaker Pro Tem: Mike Henderson
Majority Floor Leader: Jon Patterson
Assistant Majority Floor Leader: Jamie Burger
Majority Whip: Hardy Billington
Majority Caucus Chair: Chris Dinkins
Majority Caucus Secretary: Ann Kelley
Speaker-Designee Plocher issued the following statement regarding the leadership team for the upcoming legislative session:
“The people of Missouri sent us to Jefferson City to advance common sense conservative principles, I know our caucus is ready to serve as the voice of the majority of Missourians who believe in smaller government, lower taxes, strong Second Amendment rights, and protections for the lives of the unborn. The leadership team we have in place represents an ideal group to take our conservative platform and translate it into substantive policy that will make Missouri an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I am excited to get to work with our caucus to protect the values and beliefs that matter most to Missouri families.”
