STE. GENEVIEVE — We are excited to share that two student writers were recently recognized by the Ste. Genevieve County Library through its Spooky Story Contest!
The Ste. Genevieve County Library strives to support local talent and young authors.
This year, the library sponsored a spooky story contest for four age rangers: Grades 2-4, Grades 5-8, Grades 9-12 and Adults.
Stories were judged based upon content, originality, and age-appropriate quality of expression by a panel of library staff. Hundreds of stories were submitted!
Eighth grader Jaden Roth in Mrs. Krystle Kuehnel’s class was the winner of the 5-8 grade range with her story, “The Blur.”
Senior Madison Flieg from Mr. Josh Banks’ class was the winner of the 9-12 grade range with her story, “Teenage Criminal.”
The two students were awarded with a plaque, and had their story read aloud by staff and posted on the library’s website and Facebook page.
