PERRYVILLE – The Perry County School District 32 will welcome local veterans to campus this morning for our annual Veterans Day celebration.
The National Junior Honor Society and the PHS Cafeteria staff will serve breakfast to the veterans from 8-8:45 a.m., and the program begins at 9 a.m. on the football field.
The featured speaker is Chris Cairns, a veteran of the United State Marine Corps who teaches English to Speakers of Other Languages at Perry County Middle and Perryville High Schools.
Cairns served in the Marines from 1995-98 as a public affairs specialist.
She is married to Nathan Cairns and they have six children — Bayleigh, Keith, Everett, Kodin, Molleigh, and Calleigh.
She will speak on what it means to be a patriot.
