PERRYVILLE – Bethany Bachmann, County Engagement Specialist for University of Missouri Extension was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) 88th annual session, whose theme was “Take Flight, Reach New Heights.”
Bethany received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award at the conference held Sept. 12-15 in Raleigh, North Carolina. In receiving the award, Bachmann was recognized for her program accomplishments, as well as personal and professional growth throughout 11-years of service with the University of Missouri Extension system.
The NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award is the highest award presented by the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and is sponsored by the NEAFCS awards fund. The award recognizes members for leadership, outstanding program efforts and personal and professional development. Bethany‘s commitment to meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities is exemplary.
The second award Bachmann received was presented during the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Missouri Alpha Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP). Bethany received the Mid-Career Service Award. This award was presented to Bethany in recognition for her consistent leadership and excellence in Extension program planning, delivery, and evaluation over her 11 years of service with University of Missouri Extension.
Epsilon Sigma Phi is the oldest and largest organization of Extension Professionals. The mission of Epsilon Sigma Phi is to foster standards of excellence in the Extension System and to develop the Extension profession and professional.
Bachmann is currently headquartered in Perry County and provides programming for Perry, Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, and Madison Counties.
