CHICAGO — The Illinois Department of Public Health reports 11,995 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois. That is an 1,579 or a 15 percent increase from the 10,416 new cases reported last week.
The CDC has released data showing that 26 counties in Illinois are at an elevated level for COVID-19, up from 16 a week ago.
This includes three counties at High Community Level for COVID-19. IDPH is reporting 43 new deaths since October 14.
Randolph County remains at a low community level.
In Southern Illinois one county, Saline is at a high level.
Nine counties: Perry, Jefferson, Wayne, White, Jackson, Williamson, Gallatin, Pope and Hardin are at a medium level.
