JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 4,069 new cases of COVID-19 in Missouri as of Friday. That’s 91 more, or a 2.2 percent increase from the previous week’s 3,978 new cases of COVID 19.
Locally:
There were fewer than 10 new cases of COVID-19 in Ste. Genevieve County compared to 12 the previous week. That is 50 cases per 100,000 population.
There were 18 new cases in Perry County compared to 23 the previous week. That is 93.8 per 100,000 population.
Bollinger County had 13 new cases, compared to 12 the previous week. That is 107 per 100,000 population.
St. Francois County had 78 new cases compared to 75 the previous week. That’s 117 per 100,000 population.
Cape Girardeau had 62 new cases compared to 53 the previous week. That’s 79 per 100,000 population.
Jefferson County had 176 new cases compared with 193 new cases the previous week. That’s 77.7 per 100,000 population.
Locally Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois and Jefferson Counties were in the medium community level. In counties at the Medium Community Level, persons who are elderly or immuno-compromised (at risk of severe outcomes) are advised to wear a mask in indoor public places or avoid indoor public meetings. They should also get up to date on COVID-19 vaccines or get their bivalent booster, if eligible.
