STE. GENEVIEVE – Recently, Ste. Genevieve Elementary School kindergarten students learned about fire prevention and firefighters’ work!
The Ste. Genevieve Volunteer Fire Department visited the kindergarten at SGES to share fire safety tips as part of their annual visit.
Firefighters Justin Donovan, Alex Wiesnewski, Tyler Weinhold and Ryan Mayberry informed the students about what it takes to be a firefighter.
They assisted students who explored the fire trucks and showed them the various pieces of equipment onboard.
The students learned how to stop, drop and roll, and they checked out the turn-out gear the firefighters wear!
A school official stated, “We would like to thank our local volunteer firefighters for visiting our students and spending time teaching them about fire safety!”
