PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Police Department reports a rather unusual situation Friday morning.
This notice was posted to social media: “This morning at approximately 11:04 am the Perryville Police Department received a second-hand report of a possible active shooter on the cell tower near Kiefner St.
“Officers responded to the area and conducted a thorough search. When speaking to the reporting party, they advised the person who had come into their business seemed to be acting odd and did not give a name.
“After further investigation, our officers have been able to locate the subject and believe the person to be having a mental health crisis. At this time the subject is in our custody and being evaluated. There is NO CREDIBLE threat to anyone, any event, or any business. It has been determined the original call of a threat was a false claim.”
