CHESTER – Volunteers stirred the cast iron kettles used to make the delicious apple butter at the annual St. John Lutheran Church Apple Butter making event held Tuesday..
The longtime event was originally overseen by Henrietta Stallman. The now 100-year-old woman took her turn with sons Steve and Don Stallman at the 2022 event held Tuesday.

A crew of approximately 20 people maintained the production throughout the day well into the late afternoon.
