SGMS students recognized in art competition

STE GENEVIEVE – Students in Mrs. McDaniel’s American History I Class last school year participated in the “Juries: Through the Eyes of Students” Art Competition through the Judicial Learning Center!

 

These students learned about juries and then created artwork expressing how they viewed jury members and their duty. Submissions were reviewed by Mrs. McDaniel and art teacher Rebecca Keim and 8 projects were submitted to the competition. Four SGMS students were recognized through this competition!


The students included:

 

 

  • 2nd Place: Kaia Plati

 

 

  • 3rd Place: Halle Wichern

 

 

  • Honorable Mention: Kimberly Banderas

 

 

  • Honorable Mention: Becca Palmer

Kaia received a $100 cash prize, and Halle received a $50 cash price. In addition, all winners received a certificate and ribbon, as well as the honor of having their art framed and hung in the Jury Assembly Room in the Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse in St. Louis for a year.
