JEFFERSON CITY — A 49-year-old man from Fults, Illinois, escaped injury in a traffic crash Tuesday afternoon on I-55 in Jefferson County that sent two persons to Mercy Hospital Jefferson.
David J. Rodenberg was the driver of a northbound 2021 Volvo Complete which was struck in the rear by a 2021 Jeep Compass driven by 19-year-old Aniyah D. Williams of Columbia, Mo.
Williams received serious injuries and a passenger in her car, 32-year-old Lance D. Maxwell suffered moderate injuries.
Both drivers and the passenger were buckled up.
The patrol says after the initial impact, the Jeep ran off the right side of the road and overturned.
The crash happened about 2:49 p.m. at mile marker 166.
The Volvo had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
