SEDALIA – Fairgoers can enjoy “Buckets of Fun” at the 120th Missouri State Fair and celebrate Senior Appreciation Day, Wednesday, Aug. 17, sponsored by the Sedalia Democrat. Below are just a few of the many events happening this day: · $2 off adult & senior gate admission with special front page sticker available on the Sedalia Democrat newspaper, Aug. 17 edition. · Day of Dancing from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lowell Mohler Assembly Hall. · Senior Day Activities – including free BINGO, line dancing and vendor exhibits/booths in the Mathewson Exhibition Center. · Seniors can cool off and get a drink in the Senior Lounge, sponsored by AT&T and Nabholz Construction. · Free blood pressure screenings provided by Bothwell Regional Health Center in the Senior Lounge. · Free vision screenings provided by Missouri Rehabilitation Services for the Blind in the Senior Lounge. · Senior Dance Contest from 1-4 p.m. in the Mathewson Exhibition Center. · Antique Classic Tractor Pull at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the State Fair Arena, tickets available for purchase online or at the State Fair Box Office. · Old & Wow Tractor Show, sponsored by Crown Power & Equipment, and Tractor Parade at 2 p.m., northeast of the Mathewson Exhibition Center. · Longest Beard Contest at 6 p.m. on the Touchstone Energy Stage. Winner receives two tickets to ZZ Top concert that night! · Livestock shows and competitive exhibits including Red Angus, Rabbits, Sheep, Draft Horse Sled Pull and Federated Garden Clubs Show. · Fastest Fingers in Missouri – crochet, knitting and tatting contests in the Home Economics Building. · ZZ Top Raw Whiskey Tour with Goodbye June at 7:30 p.m. in the State Fair Grandstand, presented by CFM Insurance; tickets available for purchase online or at the State Fair Box Office. Seniors (60+) can also enjoy free tram rides every day of the Fair, thanks to our sponsor, Bothwell Regional Health Center!
