Missouri Prairie Foundation plans virtual annual dinner

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Prairie Foundation’s (MPF’s) Annual Dinner,

traditionally held in August, is a celebration of prairies. This summer, instead of an in-person gathering, the nonprofit organization is hosting a virtual prairie soirée on Saturday, August 27 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. (CST).

Tickets are free, and everyone is welcome.

“We are extremely pleased that Dr. Reed Noss, author of Forgotten Grasslands of the South, will be our special guest speaker for this event,” said MPF Executive Director Carol Davit. In addition to Dr. Noss’s presentation—“The Conservation Significance of Southeastern Grasslands, from Missouri to Florida”—MPF and Grow Native! program awards will be announced during the evening, and ten $50 gift certificates to Missouri Wildflowers Nursery will be offered in random drawings of registrant names.

Concurrent with the event, from August 23 through August 27, MPF invites all to bid on works of art, historic books, outdoor experiences, and many other silent auction items , with proceeds benefiting MPF’s conservation work.
