PERRYVILLE — Perry County Republicans picked Eric Schmitt to be their nominee for the U.S. Senate. He polled 1,485 votes to runner up ex-governor Eric Greitens’ 578 and Vicky Hartzler’s 537.
Perry County Republicans chose Scott Fitzpatrick (1,693) over David Gregory (801) as their nominee for state auditor.
Incumbent 8th District Congressman Jason Smith defeated his challenger Jacob Turner 2,272 to 511.
Katie Schemel defeated Jan (Huber) Mezo 1,595-1,300 in the Republican nomination for county treasurer.
Chris Francis defeated Brenda Thurm Hopper 700-605 for Central Township Republican Committeewoman.
Tom Ritter defeated Alan Muench 123-97 for Saline Township Republican Committeeman.
Marsha Hutchison defeated Pamela J. Muench for Saline Township Republican Committeewoman.
Incumbent State Representative Rick Francis was unopposed in his bid for the Republican nomination in the 145th District.
Craig Brewer was unopposed in the Republican primary for associate circuit judge.
Mike Sauer was unopposed in the Republican primary for presiding county commissioner.
Jared Kutz was unopposed in the Republican primary for county clerk.
Jennifer Hotop was unopposed in the Republican primary for circuit clerk.
Dana (Ballman) Pritchard was unopposed in the Republican primary for recorder of deeds.
Caitlin M. Hoeh Pistorio was unopposed in the Republican primary for prosecuting attorney.
Dena Preston was unopposed in the Republican primary collector of revenue.
Perry County Democrats chose Lucas Kunce to be their nominee for the U.S. Senate with 103 or 42.74 percent. Trudy Busch Valentine was runner up with 59 or 24.48 percent.
Alan Green was unopposed for the Democratic nomination for state auditor.
Randi McCallian was unopposed for the Democratic nomination for 8th District congressman.
Voter turn out was 24.5 percent.
