SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Freedom Caucus is today calling on the Illinois Republican Party to censure Congressman Adam Kinzinger for his behavior during the January 6th hearings and for his continued practice of attacking fellow Republicans.
Congressman Kinzinger led the proceedings at the latest January 6th hearings and offered up little but incendiary language, wild exaggerations, and personal opinions as so-called evidence of his baseless claims.
“These hearings are a sham without any due process, and a ban on any witnesses for the accused,” said Illinois Freedom Caucus member Adam Niemerg. “We expect this from Democrats, but it is appalling to see Republicans like Adam Kinzinger to play such a prominent part in these proceedings. He should be censured by the Illinois Republican party for his actions.”
The Illinois Freedom Caucus is comprised of State Representatives Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich); Chris Miller (R-Oakland); Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville); Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City) and Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur). The members of the Illinois Freedom Caucus are members of the Illinois General Assembly who are advocating for limited government, lower taxes and accountability and integrity in government.
