Man faces several charges following police pursuit that ended in Ste. Genevieve County

ST. LOUIS – A 29-year-old St. Charles man faces several charges following an alleged carjacking in St. Ann, as well as two counts of attempted first degree robbery and one count of resisting or interfering with an arrest in that community.

That was before he headed south Tuesday night on I-55 at a high rate of speed.

Nicholas Lima also faces possible charges in Ste. Genevieve County, which is where his carjacked vehicle finally stopped, thanks to tires flattened by police spike strips.

Lima attempted to elude officers as he ran into the woodline just off the interstate. Officers began searching and a K9 unit was brought to the scene. The dog got to him first, giving the suspect some bite wounds which were treated by EMS before Lima was taken back to St. Ann.
