Candidate comments on Caterpillar leaving Illinois

From Rabine for Governor Campaign

WOODSTOCK, Illinois – “Caterpillar (CAT) is an icon in the world of construction equipment. I am more appreciative and knowledgeable of CAT’s value to our state than any other candidate as I have used CAT products for decades. I grew up in the construction industry dreaming of someday owning CAT heavy equipment, the highest quality and most productive paving equipment in the world. It took many years before I could afford CAT but in the last 25 years, I’m proud to say we have bought mostly CAT heavy equipment as we have grown our businesses nationally. The announcement of CAT’s headquarters moving to Texas infuriates me. JB Pritzker’s disrespect for Illinois business and jobs leave him clueless as to the importance of keeping them here. When we treat business well, we treat families well. My promise is this, upon winning the primary, I will meet with CAT’s CEO and Board, and they will know that upon my winning the General Election, I will negotiate to keep them here, in the state their business was founded in 1925. This is one of the biggest Illinois and American success stories ever. We must keep them here and show every business in our state and across the country that under a RABINE governorship, we will be open for business!”
