STE. GENEVIEVE – The Sainte Genevieve Art Guild is inviting county quilters to show their work at a special quilt show and sale during Jour de Fete weekend.
“Quilting has a long history in our county and wonderful quilts are still being made,” Guild Vice President Juanita Wyman says. “We want to give quilters from all over the county a chance to share them during the show. And if they wish, quilters can make them available for sale.”
The quilt show and sale also will include information about the history and traditions associated with the art of quilting and examples of antique quilts.
Applications to show work during the weekend-long event may be picked up at the Guild Art Center (310 Merchant) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. and daily during regular hours at the Welcome Center at Market and Main.
A form and more information are also available on the Guild website, artstegen.org.
Applications must be returned by July 29.
Jour de Fete will take place August 13 and 14.
