Local heroes are honored at Randolph County Board of Commissioners Meeting

  CHESTER – Four employees of the Randolph County Sheriff’s office were honored Friday during the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners meeting.

Pictured are Mary Beam, Tele Communicator-Dispatcher; Jarrod Peters, Chief Detective; Ryan Coffey, Detective; and Stephen Miles, Detective-Deputy. 

 

The four were honored at the Friday May 13 Randolph County Board of Commissioners Meeting as lifesavers after helping to save the lives of two men trapped in a collapsed ditch March 17, 2022.

Several dignitaries also gathered at the Friday May 13 bi-monthly meeting of the Randoph County Board of Commissioners to honor the lifesaving efforts of four Randolph County Sheriff’s Department employees. Those dignitaries include (left to right): Ronnie White, Randolph County Commissioner; Mark Kiehna, Randolph County Commissioner; Melanie Johnson, Randolph County Clerk; David Overstreet, Supreme Court Justice, 5th District; David Friees, State Representative, and David Holder, Randolph County Commissioner.

 

 

Memphis man faces drug charges in Perry County

PERRYVILLE — The Perryville Police Department is reporting the arrest of a 33-year-old Memphis, Tennessee man on several drug charges.

 

Police say Kenyatta U. Crawford is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia as a prior drug offender, driving without a valid license, failure to maintain proof of insurance, and failure to register a motor vehicle with the Missouri Department of Revenue.

 

Police were called to the area of the 129 and 130 mile marker of I-55 about 3:51 p.m. Sunday, May 8, by a report of a traffic crash.

 

The subsequent  investigation led to Crawford’s  arrest.
