HILLSBORO – Jefferson College will hold its 57th annual commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, in the Field House on the Hillsboro campus. Start times are 4 p.m. on May 20, and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on May 21.

The College is holding multiple ceremonies to allow graduates and their guests with a variety of attendance options. Fall 2021, Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 graduates have been invited to participate.

More than 630 students are eligible to receive associate degrees or career and technical education certificates as the class of 2022.

To maintain a safe environment for all graduates and attendees, the College will provide hygiene stations with hand sanitizer and sanitization of Field House surfaces between ceremonies.

Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon will deliver the keynote address for each ceremony.  Gannon graduated from DeSoto High School, then attended Jefferson College to earn a Certificate in Business Management followed by an Associate of Applied Science degree. He met his wife Elaine, who is currently a member of the Missouri Senate, while attending the College. Gannon is a proud veteran of the United States Naval Reserve, Missouri Army National Guard, and U.S. Army Reserve. He is a retired U.S. Army Quartermaster Corp. Major.

Attendees and their families are encouraged to post graduation-related photos and memories using #JeffcoGrad on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

All jackets, bags and backpacks will be searched upon entry to the Field House. Purses, diaper bags and other small personal bags are allowed, but will be inspected at the entrance. No large bags or boxes are allowed in the building without prior authorization. In the event that prohibited items are revealed in a search, guests will be asked to dispose of the items or return them to their cars before re-entering the building. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow adequate time to enter the building.
