CHESTER — Gwendy Garner, First United Methodist Church Lay Leader, recently presented a vase of fresh flowers to Vicky Beers, Church Organist.

The gift was in recognition and honor of National Church Organist Day 2022.
Beers given FUMC uninterrupted service since 1981when she first began playing for FUMC.
She started as pianist with organists Sue Reiman and Earline Henson.
Following their retirement, Beers accepted the organist position and has faithfully served as organist, pianist, choir director, accompanist, and music director since that time.
During her 41 years of faithful service to the church, Beers has also been actively involved in directing the Children’s Choir, Children’s Bell Choir, Children’s Christmas Programs and other music-related events and activities.
