A funeral will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 for 81-year-old Earl Leroy Wahl, Sr. of Ellis Grove, Illinois, who passed away at 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Red Bud Regional Care Center, Red Bud, Illinois.
He was born May 28, 1940 in Evansville, Illinois, the son of John Louis and Mary Marie (nee Zweigart) Wahl in Evansville, Illinois.
Earl married Alma Hartmann December 31, 1960 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bremen, Illinois; she survives in Ellis Grove.
She is also survived by three sons: Earl Wahl, Jr. of Ellis Grove, Ill., Dale (Tina) Wahl Ellis Grove, Ill., and Craig (Sherri) Wahl Greenwood, Ind.; a sister: Pearl (Earl) Hartmann of Ellis Grove, Ill,; a brother in law: Paul Hartman of Chester; two sisters-in-law: Louise Vansant Sparta, Ill. and Joyce Wahl Schuline, Ill.; 10 grandchildren: Kendra, Jeremy, Jenna, Cody, Brooke, Zachery, Bailey, Jonathan, Noah and Jake; great grandchildren: Colin, Melissa, Caroleena, Liam and Leo and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by five siblings: Fern LeSauliner, Bennie Wahl, Dorothy Linders, Ruth Beare and Charles Wahl.
He had worked at the International Shoe Company and Sparta Printing.
Earl was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bremen, Illinois.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid baseball and basketball fan.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bremen, Illinois.

Inurnment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bremen, Illinois.
