One arrested in connection with burglaries

PERRYVILLE—The Perry County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that one person had been taken into custody and charged with the recent spate of burglaries in Perry County, and another is being sought.

Sheriff Gary Schaaf announced the arrest of 30-year-old Joseph A. Shelly of Farmington. He has been charged with three counts of felony burglary, one count of felony stealing, two counts of misdemeanor stealing, and one count of misdemeanor property damage.

Shelly is being held at the Perry County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.

“We are still looking for Shelly’s accomplice, 31 year old Justin Bishop, of Bismarck, Mo.” the sheriff said. “If anyone knows where to find Bishop, they should contact the Perry County Sheriff’s office at 573 547 4576 or their local law enforcement.”
