A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 for 98-year-old Ruth D. Meier, of Perryville, Missouri, who passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at her residence.
She was born February 8, 1923 in Tilsit, Mo. the daughter of Charles H. Daume Sr. and Ida (Valle) Daume who both preceded her in death.
She and Ervin “Pete” Meier were married; he precedes her in death.
Survivors include a son: Pete (Karen Hayden) Meier of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Sue Penzel of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a brother: Melbert Daume of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a sister: Ethel Hall of Oro Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren: Phillip (Sandy) Penzel, Christopher (Sara) Penzel, Adam Meier, Kayla Meier, Janel (Josh) Erzfeld and Jessica (Chris) Miller; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by siblings: Marie Haupt, Charles Daume Jr, Margaret Puchbauer, Allegra Wendel and Edward Daume.
Ruth was an antique dealer.
She was of the Christian Faith. She was a Sunday School Teacher, a people person and provided wisdom to those around her.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A graveside service for Ruth D. Meier will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery in Tilsit, Mo., with the Rev. Chris Seah officiating.
Burial will be at St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery in Tilsit.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. James United of Christ Cemetery or Faith Presbyterian Church in Perryville.
