A funeral will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 for 78-year-old Janet M. Bert of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at her home in Perryville.
She was born July 25, 1943 in Red Bud, Illinois to William and Jessie (Butler) Herring, who both preceded her in death.
She and Meredith N. Bert were married February 23, 1990 at the First Baptist Church in Perryville, Missouri. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Gina (Dean) Martin and Dana (Lynn) Koenig both of Perryville; two sons: Robert Reid and Brian Rollet both of Perryville; five step-sons: Robert (Donna) Rollet of Jackson, Mo., David Rollet of New York, N.Y., Neil (Roxanne) Bert of Perryville, Mo., Jerry (Sandy) Bert of Perryville and Scott (Kim) Rollet of Ellis Grove, Ill.; a daughter-in-law: Dawn Reid; 15 grandchildren: Ashley Bert, Ashley Reid, Bryan Bert, Tara Bachmann, Jesse Martin, Lauren Schnurbusch, Brandon Bert, Genna Koenig, Serenity Parker, Luke Koenig, Zeke Koenig, Bobbi Jo Brown, Joseph Reid, Julia Reid and Vivien Koenig; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Darin Gene Reid; four brothers and seven sisters: David, William, Alvin, Gilbert Ray, Doris “Jane” Helmers, Ruth Ann Herring, Georgia Herring, Mary Ladendecker, Rebecca Schreckenberg, Diane Hooten and Dinah “Pee Wee” Moonier.
Janet was an assembler with the International Shoe Company and also worked at Eric Scott Leather in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perryville.
Janet was also a member of the Perryville Eagles, a former member of the VFW Auxiliary and an avid bingo player.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Perryville.
A funeral for 78-year-old Janet M. Bert of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Perryville with Pastor Benjamin Chapman officiating.
Burial will be in the Home Cemetery in Perryville.
