Every great story has people behind it who make the difference. This month, United Way of
Southeast Missouri invites the public to walk the red carpet and celebrate the volunteers, partners,
and donors who have helped make their work possible at a special movie premiere honoring their
impact.

On October 29th from 11:30am to 12:30pm, United Way of Southeast Missouri will host a red-carpet
premiere recognizing their partners, volunteers, and donors. Everyone is invited to walk the red
carpet, take pictures, enjoy a meal provided by United Way, and experience a powerful short film
created by Digital Foundry to celebrate just a few of the lives changed by the United Way network.
Through a generous donation by Marcus Theatres of Cape Girardeau, the film will premiere on the
big screen and will highlight the people, moments, and impact made possible through the
continued support of the community. Following the screening, United Way will give awards to
some of the businesses and volunteers who have been especially generous in donating their time,
talent, and treasure.
“For a variety of reasons, we have not been able to host a community campaign kickoff for several
years, and we are very grateful to Marcus and to Digital Foundry for giving us this fun and unique
opportunity to celebrate the people who make our work possible,” said Elizabeth Shelton, Executive
Director of United Way of Southeast Missouri.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed for the occasion and enjoy an afternoon that puts them in
the spotlight. In Marcus tradition, the first 135 people who RSVP will have the opportunity to select
their Dream Lounger. Guests can reserve their seat at www.unitedwayofsemo.org/events or by
calling the office at 573-334-9634. From the red carpet to the big screen, the event is designed to be
a memorable celebration of the people who have helped make the story possible
