– Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District welcomed school board members and education leaders from across the region on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, as the district hosted the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) Region 13 Fall Regional Meeting at the new Ste. Genevieve County R-II Early Childhood Center.

Each fall, MSBA hosts dinner meetings in each of its 17 regions across Missouri, providing an opportunity for school board members and administrators to connect, collaborate and learn alongside fellow education leaders from neighboring districts.

The evening began with a meet-and-greet and networking opportunity, followed by dinner and the evening’s program. This year’s theme, “Funding the Future,” focused on the financial challenges facing Missouri public schools and how school boards and administrators can prepare for an increasingly difficult funding landscape.
Throughout the program, participants explored strategies for navigating challenging financial decisions, planning proactively and clearly communicating their districts’ financial stories with their communities. The discussion emphasized the importance of helping community members understand not only the financial decisions districts make, but also the circumstances and reasoning behind those decisions.
The regional meeting also gave attendees an opportunity to share experiences and perspectives with education leaders facing similar challenges throughout the area.
Thank you to MSBA and all of the education leaders who joined us for an informative and engaging evening!
