As our middle school students prepare to write their first essay of the school year, we were honored to welcome Wayne Basler, an Army veteran and St. Agnes parishioner, to speak with our students about his time in the service, the life lessons he learned, and what America means to him.
Wayne emphasized the importance of the American flag and the responsibility we all share to treat every citizen with respect, regardless of our differences.
We are so grateful to Wayne and his wife, Doris, for spending their morning with our middle school students and sharing their time, experiences, and wisdom with us.
What a meaningful way to help our students begin thinking about the ideas of service, sacrifice, respect, and what it means to be an American.
