STE. GENEVIEVE — University of Missouri Extension is proud to announce that five Ste. Genevieve County residents were successful in their bid for election to the Ste. Genevieve County Extension Council.

Elected were Jason Blum, Jessica Filer, Samuel Fischer, Donna M. Ringwald, and Corey Simmons II. In addition, Evan Weiler was re-appointed as Farm Bureau representative.
Council elections were held during the week of January 16-22. A ballot box was available at the Extension office, and voting could be done online. All newly elected Council members were sworn in during the month of February. The two-year term of office began March 1.
County Extension councils, in accordance with state law, work with University of Missouri Extension faculty and staff in planning and carrying out local Extension programs. The Council has three primary responsibilities: assist in planning and carrying out extension programs in their county; oversee the finances; and recruit and train Council members.
