WHAT: In a powerful nationwide initiative to fight impaired driving ahead of Labor Day weekend, MADD Missouri is partnering with law enforcement agencies for “Saturation Saturday” on August 29, 2026. In conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Missouri will be stepping up their traffic safety enforcement efforts on “Saturation Saturday” in an effort to save lives and prevent injuries.
Saturation Saturday will kick off with a Regional Roll Call where 31 Police Departments from the Eastern Missouri area, victims of impaired driving crashes, as well as guest speakers will speak briefly on the importance of intensifying impaired driving enforcement during one of the year’s busiest travel periods.
Statewide, over 60 Police Departments will be participating in Saturation Saturday – whether by conducting a sobriety checkpoint, roll call briefings or simply adding more officers to the shift on August 29 to focus on impaired driving enforcement.
WHEN: August 29, 2026 Police arrive at Whitfield School by 6:30 pm for pre-interviews; remarks to begin at 6:45pm.

WHY: To showcase how high-visibility traffic safety enforcement efforts serve as a deterrent to impaired driving crashes and prevent senseless deaths and injuries. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, sobriety checkpoints reduce drunk driving deaths by up to 20%. “Saturation Saturday” amplifies that those who drive impaired will get caught.
