STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. — Three local nonprofit organizations are receiving a combined $30,000 in grant funding through a partnership between MRV Banks and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.
The funding was made possible through the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Member Impact Fund, which matches contributions from participating member banks at a three-to-one ratio, allowing local dollars to have an even greater impact.
The Safe House for Southeast Missouri, Sainte Genevieve Museum Learning Center and Gateway Down Syndrome Association were selected to receive funding in support of their individual missions and programs.
The Safe House for Southeast Missouri will use its grant to continue providing safety, advocacy and support services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
The Sainte Genevieve Museum Learning Center plans to use its funding to help preserve the region’s history and heritage while supporting the maintenance and development of educational exhibits for the community.
The Gateway Down Syndrome Association will direct its funding toward its upcoming Spring for Down Syndrome UTV & Jeep Poker Run, which raises awareness and provides resources and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
Doug Watson, president of MRV Banks, said the partnership provides an opportunity to extend the impact of the bank’s charitable giving and support organizations working to improve the communities they serve.
Through the matching program, MRV Banks’ contributions were multiplied, resulting in a combined $30,000 investment in the three organizations.
