Missouri ranks the fifth most dangerous state to drive in the U.S., scoring 62.66 out of 100 on the Driving Danger Index.
The ranking is based on average annual fatal crashes from 2020–2024 weighted against bridge and road condition data, according to an analysis of NHTSA crash data and ASCE infrastructure report card data.
