WAUSAU, Wisc. – Missouri’s top horseshoe pitchers delivered an impressive showing at the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA) World Championships, held July 20th–25th in Wausau, Wisconsin, with Bloomsdale’s own Jennifer Gegg successfully defending her world title in dominant fashion.

Jennifer Gegg captured her second consecutive Women’s A World Championship, finishing the week with a perfect 30-0 record. Over the course of the tournament, she threw more than 1600 horseshoes and posted an outstanding overall ringer percentage of 85.65%, cementing her place as one of the sport’s elite competitors. The victory makes Gegg a two-time defending NHPA Women’s World Champion.

Joining Gegg at the World Championships were fellow Missouri competitors Pam Meyer and Emma Meyer, who made US history as the first mother and daughter to compete against one another in a World Championship division. Their achievement added a memorable chapter to the event and highlighted the strength of Missouri’s horseshoe pitching community.
Pam Meyer delivered an outstanding performance in the Women’s A Division, finishing fifth in the world against many of the top female pitchers in the sport.
Emma Meyer enjoyed a breakthrough tournament in the Women’s B Division, where she captured the division championship with a first-place finish. Her victory earned her the title of Women’s B World Champion and moved her into the Women’s A Division, where she earned a 12th place finish.
With a world title successfully defended and three Missouri women finishing among the top competitors in the world, the Show-Me State once again demonstrated why it remains a powerhouse in the sport of horseshoe pitching.
