CHESTER – Memorial Hospital recently hosted two Child and Babysitting Safety Classes, providing area youth with the knowledge and confidence needed to become responsible babysitters and caregivers.

A total of 25 students participated in classes held on June 25 and July 23 at Memorial Hospital in Chester. Participants learned essential childcare skills, including diapering, feeding, age-appropriate care, and home safety. The classes also included hands-on training in hand hygiene, First Aid, CPR, and choking rescue techniques.
Certified BLS Instructor Mariah Bargman led the training, helping students develop practical skills to prepare them for a variety of caregiving situations and emergencies. Participants in Memorial Hospital’s Medical Explorers Program also assisted throughout the day.
Memorial Hospital is proud to support youth development and safety education in the community. While no additional Child and Babysitting Safety Classes are scheduled for this summer, more classes are planned for next summer. Information on future classes will be available at www.mhchester.com.
