CALL TO ORDER: 5:30 p.m.

 

ROLL CALL: Present: Brock Gibson, Amanda Schwent, and Rebecca Monia.

 

AD-HOC MEMBERS: Dena Kreitler (Chamber of Commerce Representative), and Cory Ford (County Commissioner Representative). Absent: Roseanne Ahne and Alderman Joe Steiger

 

Also in attendance: Aaron Smith, David Bova, Dan Schultz, Sam Oberle and David Woods.

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA: 1st Amanda Schwent, 2nd Rebecca Monia, all Ayes.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – May 19, 2026: 1st Amanda Schwent, 2nd Rebecca Monia, All Ayes.

 

APPROVAL OF FINANCIAL REPORT: The board reviewed the financial reports.

 

Lodging Tax receipts were $1,894.92 for May and our Lodging Tax account has a current balance of $70,721.52.

 

Aaron Smith went over the outgoing expenses and reimbursements.

 

Motion to approve the financial report: 1st Amanda Schwent, 2nd Rebecca Monia, All Ayes.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS: none

 

OLD BUSINESS:

Vacant Board Seat – Aaron Smith introduced Dan Schultz to the board. Mr. Schultz is the operator for Chateau Sainte Genevieve Winery. He is awaiting the next aldermen meeting to be appointed to the TTC.

Trolley Service – City / County Route – Sam Oberle has been brainstorming possible routes for the trolley. There was a consensus to create a committee and have a work session in August for a trial run of the route in September. The committee should finalize to a few options the routes, stops, costs and other logistics.

 

TOURISM DIRECTOR REPORT

Tourism Director Aaron Smith discussed input from the USDA for design options and colors assigned to location by function. Placer Al has our traffic up 21% from last year. Jasper Paul did a press release on us. Travel & Leasure magazine did an article on Ste Genevieve with 11.19 million views. The U.S. 250th event was successful and the Washington reenactor had wonderful things to say about our town. An influencer showcased our town to 50K family oriented followers mostly in St Louis.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Brock Gibson mentioned we are known as a weekend getaway and he is going to be focusing on weekdays. He will host movie, music and beer garden events during the week

 

OTHER BUSINESS:

Marketing Assistance Grant Applications – The board reviewed Carrie Noll’s TTC Grant request for the Day of Celebration. Amanda Schwent made a motion to award $1,000 to the Day of Celebration. Rebecca Monia seconded the motion. All in favor on a voice vote. Motion carried.

 

Next scheduled meeting is July 21st, at 5:30 p.m. at 165 S Fourth St.

 

Adjourn: Amanda Schwent made a motion to adjourn at 6:13 p.m. Rebecca Monia seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
