Lithium Ion batteries are everywhere.
Last week we responded for another fire involving a lithium ion battery.
The resident was attempting to change the hard drive in a laptop and apparently pierced the battery causing it to ignite. They attempted to smother the fire with a towel that also caught fire and was dropped to the carpeted floor igniting the carpet.
They were able to put the fire out prior to our arrival.
We checked to make sure the fire was out and removed the burnt carpet and laptop.
