One of the largest infrastructure projects in our region is nearly complete. Construction of the new Don Welge Memorial Bridge, replacing the aging Chester Bridge over the Mississippi River, began in September 2023—and now the long-awaited opening is just days away.
The museum welcomes back David Duke of Ames Construction, who will share the incredible story behind the build, featuring spectacular photos, captivating time-lapse footage, and an insider’s perspective on the engineering challenges of constructing a bridge across one of America’s greatest rivers.
Come witness the story behind a bridge that will serve our region for generations to come!

Presentation is free to museum members, otherwise regular admission will apply.
