Celebrating Agricultural Innovation and Stewardship: 2027 Missouri Agricultural Stewardship Award call for applications

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Missouri Farmers Care is accepting applications for the 2027 Missouri Agriculture Stewardship Award, honoring Missouri farmers and ranchers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to stewardship and responsible resource management. Applications are due June 30, 2026.

Presented by Missouri Farmers Care in partnership with Missouri Corn, Missouri Soybeans, The Poultry Federation, and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the award recognizes farm families who lead the way in protecting Missouri’s natural resources while maintaining productive and innovative agricultural operations.

“Missouri farmers and ranchers care deeply for the land, livestock, and communities they serve,” said Ashley McCarty, executive director of Missouri Farmers Care. “The Missouri Agriculture Stewardship Award celebrates those who are leading by example and proving that conservation and productivity go hand in hand.”

The Missouri Agriculture Stewardship Award recognizes producers who exemplify innovation, leadership, and environmental stewardship through practices that strengthen soil health, improve water quality, support biodiversity, and ensure long-term sustainability for future generations.

Missouri Farmers Care and partners recognized Paulsmeyer Farms, of Chamois, with the 2026 Missouri Agriculture Stewardship Award. Their multi-generational farming operation was honored for integrating crop and livestock production with innovative stewardship practices.

The 2027 recipient will receive a $5,000 honorarium and opportunities to share their stewardship story through statewide events, video features, and an on-farm tour designed to inspire fellow farmers and ranchers across Missouri.

The Missouri Agriculture Stewardship Award is made possible through the support of Missouri’s agriculture community, including:

“Missouri agriculture manages more than 27 million acres of farmland across our state,” McCarty said. “This award recognizes the farmers and ranchers who are committed to leaving the land stronger for the next generation while continuing to produce food, fuel, and fiber for the world.”
