SGHS announces 2026 local scholarship recipients

STE. GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve High School seniors were recognized for their future plans, achievements and scholarship awards during a combined Decision Day and Scholarship Day ceremony held Monday, May 4, in the Performing Arts Center.

The event brought together the senior class to celebrate the many paths students will take following graduation. Seniors wore shirts representing their postsecondary plans, including colleges, careers, military service and workforce opportunities. SGHS staff members were also invited to wear apparel representing their alma maters and took photos with seniors planning to attend those schools. Attendance prizes and raffle drawings were announced throughout the ceremony as part of the celebration.

This year, local businesses, organizations and families awarded more than $120,000 in local scholarships to SGHS seniors! This incredible support reflects the generosity of our local businesses, organizations, and families—and the strong bond between our school and community.

“This milestone reflects the incredible support our students receive from this community,” SGHS Principal Dr. John Boyd said. “The generosity of our local organizations, businesses and families continues to create opportunities for our students as they begin the next chapter of their lives.”

SGHS also wants to share a special thank you to SGHS Registrar and Counseling Secretary Stephanie Brumfield, rootEd Advisor Erin Stoll, and Senior Counselor Russ Toombs for their dedication in organizing, coordinating, and supporting our students through this process. Their commitment played a major role in making this year’s scholarship milestone possible.

The event was sponsored by rootEd, McDonald’s Golden Operations Inc., Mr. Toombs and the SG Teachers Fantasy Baseball League and Ms. Stoll.
