PERRYVILLE – The Perry County Clerk’s Office is pleased to announce that, beginning with the August 4, 2026 Primary Election, a central polling location will be available for all registered voters in Perry County.
The central polling location will be located on the main floor of the Perry County Courthouse :
- 15 W Ste Maries St. Perryville, MO 63775
This location will be open on Election Day from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., consistent with all polling places across Missouri.
Under Missouri law, a central polling place allows any registered voter within the county to cast a ballot at a designated location, regardless of their assigned precinct. This means voters are no longer limited to voting only at their neighborhood polling place and may instead choose the most convenient option available to them on Election Day.
The addition of a central polling location is intended to improve accessibility and flexibility for voters. This option is especially beneficial for individuals who may have work or other commitments that make it difficult to travel to their assigned precinct but can more easily access the courthouse during the day.
At the Perry County Courthouse central poll, election staff will utilize a ballot-on-demand system. This technology allows poll workers to securely access a voter’s registration record and print the correct ballot style specific to that voter’s address and precinct.
Once a voter checks in and their eligibility is verified:
- The system identifies the appropriate ballot for that voter’s residence
- A ballot is printed on-site
- The voter then casts their ballot just as they would at any traditional polling place
This process ensures that every voter receives the accurate ballot containing only the contests and issues applicable to their district, while maintaining the integrity and security of the election.
The Perry County Clerk’s Office remains committed to providing secure, efficient, and accessible voting options for all citizens. The introduction of a central polling location is another step toward modernizing election services and meeting the needs of today’s voters.
In the state of Missouri, voters are required to present valid photo identification in order to cast a regular ballot at the polls.
Acceptable forms of identification include one of the following:
- A nonexpired Missouri driver’s license
- A nonexpired or non-expiring Missouri non-driver ID card
- A U.S. passport or passport card
- A U.S. military ID card (active duty or veteran)
- Another photo ID issued by the United States government or the state of Missouri that:
- Contains your name
- Includes your photograph
- Has an expiration date (and is not expired)
Voters who do not have one of the acceptable forms of photo ID still have options:
- You may cast a provisional ballot
- Your ballot will be counted if:
- You return later with valid photo ID before polls close, OR
- Your signature matches the one on file with your voter registration
- The name on your ID should reasonably match your voter registration record.
- Expired IDs are not accepted for voting purposes.
- Missouri also offers a free non-driver ID for voting through the Missouri Department of Revenue if you do not already have one.
