JEFFERSON CITY — A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper suffered moderate injuries when his fully-marked patrol car with illuminating emergency overhead lights was struck in the rear by a 1995 Dodge D250 driven by a 25-year-old Farmington man.
The driver of the patrol car a 27-year-old Weldon Spring man was taken to Parkland Health Center in Farmington by ambulance.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
According to the report the patrol car was stopped in the northbound lane of Route D in Ste. Genevieve County due to a previous crash when it was struck. After the impact the patrol car, a 2023 Dodge Charger, skidded off the east side of Route D where its bumper struck an embankment.
The patrol car received extensive damage to a rear, left rear quarter panel and back glass. It was a total loss. It was towed to Troop C Headquarters by Buckley’s Towing.
The truck had moderate damage and was towed by Buckley’s Towing.
The crash happened about 9:13 a.m. Saturday on Route D in Ste. Genevieve County.
