Mel was the kind of person who truly knew how to enjoy life. She had friends everywhere she went and a sense of humor that made every moment more fun. Mel faced many challenges during her life, and always said there wasn’t a hill she couldn’t climb; though some of them were getting pretty steep. She was a friend to all, full of humor and joy. Mel loved volunteering at Laboure, bingo, casino trips, playing cards, and keeping careful track of her wins and losses. She and Clete enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Clete, Mel and their friends had a ball with years of dancing, cocktails, laughter, and good natured shenanigans. Family vacations and gatherings were special to her. Mel said these past few weeks were better than the vacation we planned at Barrett’s for this summer. Her favorite activity during this time was sitting and listening to her kids talk. Mel was an excellent caregiver her whole life, especially when taking care of both husbands in their final years. Heaven will never be the same and neither will Earth with Mel’s passing.
