STE. GENEVIEVE, MO — Community members are invited to dig into better health through Get Healthy Through Gardening, a free educational gardening series hosted at the Felix Vallé House State Historic Site. The program will be held every Thursday from May 14 through July 2, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at 198 Merchant Street, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.
Presented by the University of Missouri Extension, in partnership with the Felix Vallé House State Historic Site, this engaging eightclass series offers handson gardening activities designed to help participants learn how to create and maintain a home garden that produces nutritious fruits and vegetables. Each weekly class will focus on a different gardening topic, and attendees are welcome to participate in as many sessions as they choose.
All classes will take place in the backyard of the historic Felix Vallé House, providing a unique outdoor learning environment. Participants who attend at least six classes will receive a free small kitchen appliance of their choice, courtesy of MU Extension.
Classes are limited to 15 participants, ages 17 and up, and online registration is required. Youth who do not meet the age requirement may take part in concurrent youth programming offered during class time; registration is not required for youth activities.
This program is designed to promote healthy living, practical gardening skills, and community engagement in a welcoming and supportive setting.
For more information and registration details, community members are encouraged to contact the Felix Vallé House State Historic Site.
