MAC English Department hosts Annual Word Fest

PARK HLLS – A Perryville High School student was among the area high school students participatig in the Mineral Area College English Department’s Annual Word Fest writing competition. 

 

Area high school students were invited to submit personal narrative essays. Nine local high schools submitted work: Ste. Genevieve R-II, Perry County District  32, Arcadia Valley R-II, Cape Central, Central R-3, Eminence R-1, North County R-1, Viburnum Iron County C-4, and West County R-IV.

 

Second place in the junior division was awarded to Lynlea Seabaugh (Perry County)

 

First, second, and third place winners in the junior class division each received a $250 MAC dual credit or dual enrollment scholarship; first and second place winners in the sophomore and senior class divisions received gift cards. All participants received a journal.

First place was awarded to Kaylee Mays (West County)

Second place was awarded to Lynlea Seabaugh (Perry County)

Third place was awarded to Lauren Jackson (West County)

 

Sophomore Class Division Winner:

First place was awarded to Audrey Hall (Arcadia Valley)

 

Freshmen Class Division Winners:

First place was awarded to Maci Goodwin (Arcadia Valley)

Second place was awarded to Melody Harper (North County)
