Jack R. Houghlan, 59, of Chester, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 26, 2026 with his family by his side.
He was born to the late Jack and Janet (nee Huie) Houghlan on December 17, 1966 in DuQuoin, Illinois.
Jack had worked for Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
He was of Christian Faith.
He was an outdoors man at heart. He was his happiest and found peace when he was hunting and fishing with family and friends. He also loved being outside barbecuing and listening to music.
He married Cheryl Dierks on September 5, 1992; she survives along with his son, Zack Houghlan, one sister, Julie Munster and several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and beloved uncle Louis who shared his love of fishing.
Preceding him in death besides his parents is one sister, Jill Spence.
Celebration of Life: Friday, May 1, 2026, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois.
