JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. Attorney General Catherine Hanaway released a statement following Governor Mike Kehoe’s signing of House Bill 2641:
“We are glad that Governor Kehoe has signed House Bill 2641 into law. This important piece of legislation builds upon our enforcement efforts already underway, and gives the Attorney General’s Office specific authority to hold bad actors accountable when selling cannabinoid products outside of Missouri’s constitutional and statutory framework for marijuana. A storefront and a sales counter do not make an illegal drug operation into a legitimate business. We will do everything in our power to protect Missouri neighborhoods. My office is eager to work with law enforcement and agency partners to continue safeguarding consumers and upholding the rule of law.”
