Arlan E. Steffens, 96, of Farrar, Missouri passed away Friday, April 24, 2026 at Independence Care Center in Perryville, MO.
He was born September 27, 1929 in Farrar, MO to Ernst and Rosa (Versemann) Steffens.
Arlan and Ruby J. Lorenz were married May 29, 1954 at Salem Lutheran Church, Farrar, MO. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2022.
He served in the United States Army. Arlan was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the Men’s Club and American Legion Post #133. He also sang in the Salem Lutheran Adult Choir for 57 years.
Arlan worked as a mechanic for the Farrar Garage. He enjoyed watching Cardinal Baseball and playing fast pitch softball in his younger years. Most important to Arlan was spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Pamela) Steffens of Washington, MO, Daniel (JoAnn) Steffens of Farrar, MO; three daughters, Beverly Buerck of Perryville, MO, Gail (Tom) Clampitt of Jackson, MO, Lori (Wendell) Valleroy of Old Appleton, MO; two brothers, Cleo (Carol) Steffens of St. Louis, MO, Wayne (Marilyn) Steffens of Cape Girardeau, MO; two sisters, Edith (Milton) Roth of Farrar, MO, Virginia (Dennis) Guyott of St. Charles, MO; twelve grandchildren, Elizabeth (William) Binder, Victoria (John) Meilink, Simon (Meredith) Steffens, Gina (David) McKelly, Joseph Buerck, Mark (Allyson) Buerck, Gwen (David) Leadbetter, Valerie (Chad) Rollins, Bryant (Tiffany) Steffens, Amber (Eric) Smith, Tyson (Brooke) Valleroy, Brooke (Michael) Bachman; twenty-six; great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandchild.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, LaVern Fox; brother, Norman Steffens; son-in-law, Lynn Buerck; great-grandchild, Beau Bachman.
Visitation will be from 7:30 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, MO.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar with Rev. John Hellwege officiating.
Burial will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Farrar.
Military Honors will be provided by Delta Team and American Legion Post #133.
Memorial contributions may be given to Salem Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
